Description |
This complete set of shell loading material is mounted on a wooden stand with beleveled edges. (1-4) are lead balls for shot, nailed to the board. (5-8) is paper wadden, nailed to the board. (9) is a tin can for primers, it is held to the board with a brass strap. (10) is a loading deice used to put the shot into the shell, there are 2 parts one fits inside the other, the inside part has a large wooden ball handle, & it is a cylinder shape, the outside part is a cylinder shaped tube with a flared top, both pieces are brass & they are held to the board by a brass strap. Donor/Vendor Information: a card below the material, typed written, says "Shell Loading Material for Gun Owned and Used by Dr. Andrew Murray Smith Whose Residence Was On Main Street, Williamstown, Mass." Remarks: Listed in the red book inventory, done in 1970 by Mrs. Sally Millers, under Misc. |
